Pine Wood Derby Treats

It's pine wood derby time!  Here's the snacks I made.  As you can tell... I didn't actually made the cupcakes.  Those were supplied by Hostess. I thought they would be perfect with the black and white street theme.  I did make the cupcake toppers.

You can find the pinewood derby stamp HERE!

My greatest Blessings call me MOM

For Sunbeam Sunday, I stamped tiles.  There are several different ways to do this. First you gotta buy some tiles!  :)  I got mine at Lowes for like $THREE dollars!  I wanted the 2"x2" tiles so you have to buy them in a 12"x12" tile block.  Sweet, extra tiles to make more!

Cut them apart.  You will need a stamp that fits nicely inside a 2"x2" square.  I used MY GREATEST BLESSINGS CALL ME MOM from Sunbeam Stamps.  I stamped with WATERMARK ink (which stamps clear but stays wet for awhile so you have time to sprinkle embossing powder on it)  I also rubbed ink on the edges.  Sprinkled with baby blue embossing powder.  You could either just use a heat gun for a few minutes on it, {until the powder gets hard} or put on a cookie sheet and bake.  250 degrees for 10 minutes.  I baked them because I've done the heat gun method a thousand times and wanted to try the oven method.  It worked really well but just don't touch right when they come out or you will burn your fingers like I did!!  haha.

Adhere a big juicy magnet on the back (because the tile is sort of heavy and you want it to actually stay on the fridge).  I use these thick rounds ones that come with a peel and stick adhesive side.

A great little addition to your Mother's Day gift.  Add a cute photo that she can hang on the fridge.

OTHER METHODS....

This tile I simply used regular ink (SAGE SHADOW by SU) and baked it in the oven (250) for 10 minutes.  Because it is ink made for paper and not slick surfaces, you get that spongy look.  It is dry though. LOVE AT HOME stamp from Sunbeam Stamps.

This tile I stamped with Staz On ink (RED).  This ink is specifically made for slick surfaces and works great!  I also inked the edges.  I did bake this one with the others but you don't really need to.  LOVE ONE ANOTHER stamp

This is the same method as the Blessings tile above.  I just used silver embossing powder for a more regal feel.

TRASHFORMATION

In honor of Earth Day this week Sunday Stamps is hosting there weekly challenge called Trashformation.  Transform something you would throw away into something useful.
I made a bunch of postcards out of cereal boxes, poptart boxes, oatmeal boxes, etc.  It is sooo easy!  Just trim your box to 4" x 6".  I rounded the corners but that's totally optional.  I also added the address lines, again optional.  I thought I would make a bunch and my kids could write messages to their grandparents once a week.  postcard stamps are only $.29!!!

I stamped this one with the CHARITY NEVER FAILETH stamp as I was planning to send a thank you postcard to my friend for bringing me chocolate!!

Sunbeam Sunday

Here is what I made today using Sunbeam Stamps.. The butterfly is a sizzix die and I used the GRATEFUL 4 YOU stamp and  YOU ARE AN ANSWER TO MY PRAYERS stamp.  I actually made quite a few cards just to have some on hand when I need one.  Here is a couple of the designs I used.  My challenge for myself today was to make a card without any adhesive!  I cut out the butterflys and just sewed them on.  I layered a few of them so it would sort of have a fluttery 3d look when you pull it out of the envelope.  enjoy!

Look at the uber card that Evanna made for Sunbeam Sunday!
Cute right?  and here's her BLOG

Stamping Easter Eggs!

1. Hardboil eggs, cool and dry.
2. You can dye eggs the traditional way and then stamp or just stamp and "die" with an ink pad.
3. We used Crafter's Ink to stamp and cat's eye ink pads to pounce ink on them.  Also used Staz On ink for a more detailed impression.
5. Heat set with your heat gun or put them in a pan and place in hot oven for a few minutes.
6. Can stamp and layer as many times as you want, it adds cool textures and impressions.
The TRICK is to use  unmounted "Clear" stamps with your fingertips.  Then just roll the stamp over the egg.  It takes a little practice to get it perfect.  If you smear it you can easily wipe off with a papertowel and try again.

Happiness is just a FOAM away!

Don’t you hate it when you carefully evenly ink up your stamp, press it down with good even pressure being careful not to rock it and you pull it up and it looks like this????

UGH!!!!  I hate that.
Sooooo….. here’s my tip.
Use fun foam (you know, that stuff that you probably have tons of because of all the kid’s projects)  Place a sheet on the table and then put the paper you are planning to stamp on top of the foam.  Then stamp and watch the magic happen! Your image will be crisp and beautiful!

Stamping pillowcases

Still love this idea!  Perfect for Girl's Camp, Faith in God activities, slumber parties, cub scouts, missionary gifts, etc. etc. etc.
It is sooooo easy. 1. Buy some white or light colored pillowcases. 2. Put a piece of cardboard into the pillowcase (so the ink doesn't go through both sides) 3. STAMP ALL OVER.  Here's the trick, you HAVE to use ink that was specifically designed to use with fabric.  If you just use regular ink it will bleed and wash off.  I always use CRAFTER's ink from Clearsnap. It is cheap and easy and you can find it here.  {Also you can use Stampin Up CRAFT ink.} 4. After you stamp your pillowcase, use a heat gun to set the ink or simply throw them in the clothes dryer for 10 minutes.  That is it!  You can wash and dry as many times as you want and it will never fade.  Easy peasy and oh soooo cute!
